Adopt the lifestyle of Jesus for 40 days and see what happens!

I feel like I have already journeyed through 40 days of Lent…

wait...what? How could that be?

For the last 40 days and 40 nights, my husband has been dealing with IV treatments. We both have given up so much. We have prayed on our knees for a miracle, trusted God beyond measure, relied on His grace ...and have looked forward to the light at the end of these 40 days!

Yet, here we are, so very grateful and thankful.

These last 40 days of relying on one another, handling daily nurse visits, and minute-by-minute prayers have prepared us for the greatest Lent of 2023.

We view this Lenten year as not an obligation but an opportunity to pray in thanksgiving and accept the crosses in our lives, knowing full well we await the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

Adopt the lifestyle of Jesus for 40 days and see what happens!

Adopt the lifestyle of a saint...

Jesus doesn’t offer us an escape from our daily lives, but He offers us tools to dig deep and live them! Let’s trust in the tools of holy habits. An easy life isn’t an option, but an easy YOKE is!

We read about the lives of the Saints; how do we put their practice into our practice? How can we make their habits our habits, their routines our routines, and their values our values? In hopes that it will foster a similar result in our life! To become HOLY is to live in the constant presence of Jesus! To walk in union with Him and allow miracles to flow through us!

  1. Wake up early and pray (Jesus would wake up early and go off to a quiet place to be with his Father)
  2. Solo soul time (He would go away overnight to get away from the crowds and gather Himself to God
  3. Rest! He would sleep (disciples would have to wake Him)
  4. Read scripture
  5. Live in community (every chance He got, He would enjoy a long meal with friends and in-depth conversation)
  6. Practice Sabbath (every week)
  7. Give money to the poor (simplicity, charity)
